Let’s get to the most important
> things first. This week we were doin' the usual, you know,
> building the kingdom, and I had one of those epiphanies. I
> finally thought of a suitable nickname for each of us. Elder
> Carr and Elder Driggs shall now forever be known (probably
> just for this week) as Sunset and Chipotle Sauce. Elder
> Driggs, I mean Chipotle Sauce, or Chip as I like to call
> him, even helped a bit by showing me a scripture from Alma
> 26. He didn’t show me what he learned from his reading of
> this chapter with the goal of improving our companionship
> title (so he thinks), but what’s done is done. There is a
> line in there that says: peregrinos en una tierra extraña.
> Something like wonderers in a strange land in English. You
> will have to double check that, I haven’t really opened my
> English quad for a while.
>
> Sunset and Chipotle Sauce: Peregrinos en una Tierra
> Extraña.
>
> Okay, moving on.
>
> Elder Driggs just peeked over my shoulder and read what I
> wrote… he laughed in disbelief. I told him that in time he
> would come to realize what is really important in life. He
> said he was going to write about how disobedient I am. Sure,
> I will give him the fact that the white handbook speaks out
> against nicknames, but it says nothing against companionship
> titles.
>
> Companionship unity. What about our new title doesn’t
> scream unity?
>
> Okay, moving on.

> Mum, feel free to go with the vitamin c capsules, the
> powder is poison. Sure, the powder may work better, but that
> is only because it scares your body into not ever wanting to
> get sick again. Just thinking about it makes me crave a swig
> of my high fructose corn syrup: the true doctor.
>
> Mum again, feel free to use the ipod. It will probably need
> to be updated if nobody has been using it, which would
> surprise me since you are all a bunch of moochers (smoochers
> if you are Missy and Preston). But if nobody has used it,
> ask Graham to update it for you.
>
> Mum once again, and indirectly Susan. Feel liberated
> (wanted to change things up a bit from free) to use any pics
> you want. If it turns out really good, maybe you could send
> one my way to give to Hermana Watkins… or maybe her
> daughter…
>
> Ooooh that was so inappropriate, Moms gonna kill me! Too
> bad I wont hear about it for another month.
>
> Okay, moving on.

> This Saturday was awesome. We cruised on over to the Chapel
> bright and early to build ourselves a font which has now
> popularly come to be known as the blue whale. Isa made it
> through and was ready to go for a swim. Everything was
> amazing. She got baptized along with the daughter of our
> Branch President. The only speed bump this time was
> everything having to do with the baptismal clothes. The
> mission has always gotten clothes from the mission office so
> when the time was closing in I gave them a call and they
> said they would take care of it. They then called me the day
> before to let me know that there is new norm that all the
> wards and branches pertaining to stakes have to get their
> clothes from them and that the office is not supposed to
> take care of it. Having to deal with that made me take a new
> resolve: In my life I am going to always try to do the right
> thing, not just the correct thing. They had the
> clothes, but left us out to dry. The stake didn’t do
> anything either because of the short notice. I didn’t
> appreciate what happened because I am pretty sure Christ
> would have helped us out, but He also wouldn’t have let
> this bug him or stop him, so we didn’t let that happen
> either. Luckily, the members came together and provided
> little Isa with a temple dress, white pants, pretty little
> ties, and all the necessaries. I however realized that we
> didn’t pack my temple clothes so I had to borrow them from
> Elder Driggs. I currently am a tight 36, Elder Driggs is a
> slim 32. That was interesting. I felt like I was getting
> ready to shoot Saturday night fever. Look out John Travolta.
> Not to mention the water was ice cold, which was cool (ha
> ha, pun!). Oh yeah, and seeing as this was my first time
> ever in my life doing this, I never really thought about
> having to bring dry garments, so I clunked around the rest
> of the night moistened with holy water. Maybe in the next
> package you could sneak my pants, tie, shoes, and socks into
> there. I hopefully wont ever have to baptize again, but just
> in case it might be good to have the necessaries. I prefer
> tricking the investigator into choosing a member. I get
> transferred, the member doesn’t. Oh well, we’ll see.
>
> After she was baptized she shared the most amazing
> testimony I have ever heard. It was incredible. She was
> talking about how she knew God lived because she had seen
> him in others. Then she talked about the missionaries and
> said: In them I see the wisdom of an elder, the power of the
> spirit, and an example of a believer: I see my mother. In
> them I see a faithful companion, a true friend, and a
> powerful support: I see my husband. In them I see humility
> and the innocence of a child: I see my son.
>
> It was a really cool experience. I made a CD this week but
> then a member needed to copy some of the pictures so I will
> hopefully be getting that off next week.
>
> Loves, hugs, and high fives,
